Appointment of New Regional Manager
The board of Midlands Together CIC is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Battell as the new Regional Manager.
Jon Battell brings a wealth of experience to the position from previous roles within estate agency, property and land development. He has held senior roles at Bovis Homes and Worcestershire County Council prior to joining Midlands Together. Jon commented: “I have been working very closely with Midlands Together’s social enterprise partners who engage the prospect of future residential development creating greater volumes of ex-offender employment. I believe that with the right approach, Midlands Together can be competitive in a busy market, delivering much needed housing, efficiently and profitably whilst also creating social impact.
Jon takes over from Richard Nicol, the founding Chief Executive Officer of Midlands Together CIC, who has left the company as part of a strategic review. Richard successfully led an over-subscribed bond issue of £3 million, which enabled the business to create full-time employment for ex-offenders through the repair and renovation of empty properties.
Richard not only led Midlands Together through this fundraise and a successful launch, but also contributed significantly to developing better systems and procedures that have now been adopted in our sister businesses in Bristol and Glasgow.
Paul Harrod, the founder of the Together Social Business Group said: "I am very pleased to welcome Jon to his new role, and we are confident that he will build upon the solid foundations Richard has put in place. I would also like to thank Richard for his invaluable role in the start-up of Midlands Together, and the huge amount he contributed to the wider Group. During his time as Chief Executive, Richard created employment for approaching twenty people who have been in prison, none of whom re-offended".
